Yes, I just complained on the Internet that there is too much complaining on the Internet. Don't ever say I don't have a sense of irony.

Did you just complain to "the internets" that there is too much complaining on the internet?

If someone wants bemoan something let them. The recipients of this playtest have already announced they will only be looking for constructive critiques.

Just a correction but it is important: the Marvel game you refer to is actually called the Marvel Heroic Roleplaying game, as this differentiates it from the Marvel Super Heroes Roleplaying Game, which was the old TSR product. As for D&D Next, so far I am sharing your enthusiasm and interest!

those folks seem to have a tough time grasping that the whole point of the Paladin is to make the hard choices and not take the easy way out

There's been SO MUCH talk since January about how people hope that wizards will be "nerfed" at high levels, that it doesn't surprise me he took this track with it. If he hadn't, the comments section would be full of nothing but "How are you going to stop the wizard from being ZOMG powerful at high levels?" That said, it means that there will probably be a lot of design work still to be done on the wizard, since they seem to be so fundamentally changing the way he worked in prior editions.

I really liked this article, but there was one thing that worries me: Mearls has spent the past few weeks speaking about how awesome the other classes are, but when the wizard comes up to bat, he instead talks about the class' limitations. He passes this off by saying: " The issue we see with this class isn't that it needs clarity on what it does. After all, it's fairly obvious that wizards cast arcane spells", however one can do the same for all classes (a cleric casts divine spells, a fighter hits things with a big pointy metal stick, etc.). It's likely nothing, but I can't get a nagging feeling out of the back of my mind.

I had been avoiding the D&D Next forums for quite some time after my list of things I wanted to see was completely obliterated. I had begun to assume that I was in the minority on how I wanted 5E to be, or even beyond the minority and completely alone.

I decided to go back in to the forums recently to see what "progress" had been made, leaving a few comments here are there, and I happened across a link to your site. Turns out we have similar viewpoints on a large number of things concerning 4E and 5E (even to the point where I made the 4E New Coke comparsion before even having discovered your posts).

Just wanted to post to say it's heartening to find someone else with a similar view given all the trolling and vitriol slinging on the forums.

To be fair Dane_McArdy spews a lot of ridiculous vitriol, not just with regards to digital distribution
