Twitter Novels?
Maybe it’s because I don’t have a cell phone, but I’m just not tapped into the Twitter phenomenon that’s become so mainstream since the first of the year. So it’s no surprise that I missed the boat on Twitter novels, an idea that has apparently been around since last summer.
I’m still not into Twitter. I don’t confess to get the appeal. Why do I care about the random minutia of your boring life, and why would you care about mine?
But the idea of doing some sort of on-the-fly, as-you-conceive it storytelling exercise is *immensely* appealing to me, just to see where it goes. So I might give this one some thought. I mean, I can’t see it being a good avenue for deep thought and intricate plotting, but the idea of some sort of serialized story, like a comic book or old movie house adventure … that’s got a lot more to it.
I’m gonna think about this one …
Hey Brian,
So have you started writing something? I’m interested in gathering all (interesting) twitter initiatives. I’ve posted many Twitter-oriented literary references here: http://buboneka.blogspot.com (check out the They talk about twillers section in the right column).
Buboneka is the Twiller I write with a friend (in French). You might want to check out David Miller’s twiller here: http://www.miller-david.com/twitter-novel/
